How to earn more through AdSense Referral ads without violating TOS

Though, I am not an AdSense guru & I have failed, falled and still learning, the following tips might help you increase your AdSense revenue.

Referral ads are credited on cost per action (CPA) basis. So, you earn when the visitor completes the action i.e either download and/or install the product, subscribe or anything else that depend upon the sort of product. Unlike contextual ads, AdSense policies allow "explicit endorsement" for referral ads.

...you can endorse referral ads because you know the exact ad you are displaying on your site...Of course, publishers may never encourage people to click on any ad, including referrals, for deceptive purposes...Any endorsement or attention drawn to a referral ad must be done in a way that supports the intended use of the product or service associated with it... [More details]

1. Give your website a dynamic view:- AdSense policies allow upto 3 Referral units to be displayed on a page where each unit can contain 15 products/specific ads. So, choosing a product instead of a specific ad for the product makes the website dynamic as it displays different ads for the same product.

2. Choosing ads:- Though there are referral ads that can earn you upto $20 or even more with each action, I recommend you to choose ads that make sense with your website, visitors demographics .etc. Products that do not require to make any purchase i.e. free products, sign-ups .etc may have less action value but, more convertion rate.

3. Endorse Google products:- Google products, particularly Mozilla Firefox is known to be best working. So, endorse them and spread the words. For e.g. detect the browser and endorse Firefox according to it.

<script type="text/javascript">if (navigator.userAgent.indexOf("MSIE")!=-1) document.write("Still using Internet Explorer!")</script> AdSense code for Firefox Referral <script >

4. Target the Google products within post body:- AdSense javascript code inserted within blog post hosted at Blogger doesn't work. But, still you can draw attention to the Google products using named anchor tags. For e.g. embed your Firefox referral code with <a name="FIREFOX"> and </a>. Now adding hyperlinks in blog post can be done in two ways:-

a) Just click 'Edit Html' tab and manually hyperlink the desired words in the post. e.g <a href=”#FIREFOX”>Firefox</a> and publish the post. [Note:- Don't click on Compose or Preview before publishing else it will change the hyperlink to http://www2.blogger.com/post-edit.g?blogID=XXXX&postID=YYYY#FIREFOX]

b) Edit your template and add the following code after <head>

<script src='http://rupeshmandal.googlepages.com/referralAdLink.js' type='text/javascript'></script>

which replaces all Google product names with their respective hyperlinks automatically.
Now, clicking on Firefox takes you to the location where the download link is.

5. Change font size & face of Text Link ads:- Google policies have given relaxation to change the font size & face of Text link referral ads, which can be done as:-
<font size="X" face="font1, font2, font3, ...">AdSense code</font> where font size ranges from -7 to 7 and font face can be Arial, Verdana, sans-serif .etc.
